Overall, great x-country experience, and looks like he found himself a nice Cirrus!
So one of my friends recently partnered with a friend on a Cirrus...and it was located in St. Louis MO, so guess who got to do a "real" x-country! My friend, his son and I flew on SouthWest up to St. Louis, took a cab to KSUS, met with the broker and saw the airplane for the first time. A good pre-flight and some paperwork and we were on our way...2.5hrs to a little airport outside of Birmingham, and had lunch at a great restaurant on the field! (Im an airport restaurant connoisseur). Then we were on our way to Orlando (KORL) where the aircraft pre-buy inspection was being completed. A friend was kind enough to come to KORL and take us back to Tampa.
Overall, great x-country experience, and looks like he found himself a nice Cirrus! Okay, so I have officially perfected my Bahamas eAPIS, flight plans, paperwork etc. My new flying gig has been taking me to the Bahamas a couple times a week...kinda funny because the employees at Marsh Harbor now know me by name! It's a fun gig, quick flight over there in the Malibu, flight plans at 1:45...nice and scenic too. I choose to clear customs in KPBI (West Palm Beach), they are good there nice guys and quick in and out of customs...biggest issue with that airport tends to be the vectoring into the airport which can add to a bit of a delay. Flight from KPBI-KTPF is quick and easy just under an hour.
